I have been involved in, fascinated by and dedicated to photography for over 20 years. My professional career has been spent in the creative, management and archiving aspects of working with a photographer and their body of work.

My educational experience began with the BFA program in Photography at Long Island University, where I studied in a Photography Department created by Alfred Stieglitz. I spent many years as an educator at the American Museum of the Moving Image, learning about museum conservancy and archival work. Since relocating to Los Angeles, I have worked with renowned Jazz photographer Herman Leonard, and have been intimately involved in the preservation and archiving of his most important and most fragile of work – the silver gelatin negatives and prints that require the utmost attention to produce museum quality works that will remain a photographic and artistic legacy for generations.

As well as working with Herman Leonard, I have also worked as a photographer for national magazines as well as Studio Manager for Swiss photographer Stefan Studer.. I have also been involved in fine art print sales, exhibition preparation, book publishing and have worked with major galleries in the US and abroad.

My desire is to give my clients most professional and dedicated service in all aspects of managing a body of photographic work. This can range from creating and implementing a detailed plan to archive intellectual property, as well as management and marketing of a collection.

My passion is photography and its preservation and I look forward to speaking with you.

At Photo LA this year, one of my favorite things were 2 color photographs by Photo Leauge photographer, Ida Wyman. Ms. Wyman, now 84, recently discovered color film she shot in the 1940′s on the streets of New York. The work was shown by Stephen Cohen Gallery, who generously supplied me with these wonderful images. I just love her perspective and her images have a magical memory quality for me…definitely in my dream photography collection.

“Her photographs manage to be both specific and universal. They will appeal to those who remember mid-century America, as well as those who simply respond to a human moment captured on film,” says MMoCA curatorial assistant Carl Fuldner, who organized an exhibition in her hometown of Madison, WI.

As always, looking forward to this year’s Photo LA. It’s always great to see so much photography in one place and catch up with contacts from different parts of the country. This year the exposition moves back to it’s original home at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium.

Dr. Anthony Bannon, the director of The George Eastman House, will hold a Photography Collecting seminar and tour through the exhibit and the opening reception will be hosted by David LaChappelle.

This event is a must for anyone interested in photography and a great chance to see some great vintage work, as well as exciting pieces by current photographers.
